9/24/ - 9/25
1ST GRADE: Continuing computer navigation basics. Focused the period with mouse and pointer tutorial. Much improved this week.
2nd grade: Tested on headset and sound check. Tested with finding 2 websites. Without any help from the teacher. Practiced typingclub and ABCYA.
3rd grade: mouse and pointer tutorial. Reviewed a few times. Typing practice.
4th grade: (Tuesdays): Excel features, borders, resizing columns and rows. Started states and capitals with Excel 1 – 10. Most students completed upto the tenth state.
5th grade: warm up with Typing club, sound check with headsets. Set up mouse and pointer tutorial.
6th grade: With prior knowledge of Excel features. Students brought in a layout on paper of their homeroom classroom. 6th grade started work on creating a layout of their classroom utilizing Excel.
7th Grade: Early discussions on High School and the High schools admissions process. Students will be creating a basic spreadsheet with excel and list 10 schools of interest.
6th, 7th , 8th grade: Placement test on typingclub.com. review capturing screen shots.
6TH GRADE: Spreadsheet started: Vital Phrases in Italian. Video presentation: Italianpod101 “ Why learn a new language; Why Italian? Kahoot.it: Italian phrases
7th grade: Vital phrase to know when stranded in a Foreign Country. (Shared spreadsheet) Italian common greetings. ( Buongiorno, Buon Promeriggio, Buana Sera, Buonnanotte ). Top 10 reasons why you should learn Italian. Initiation of new vocabulary spreadsheet.

April 9th, April 10th : RETURN FROM EASTER BREAK
1st Grade: Practice typing Log in and password drills for Educationcity and mathletics. Vocabulary words. Typing club.com ( 20 minute practice time)
2nd grade: (Tuesdays ) Review introduction to Excel. Identifying columns and rows and cell identification. Modifying column and row width and heights and utilization of borders. Formatting and outlining data neatly on a spreadsheet via States and Capitals.Continued populating states and Capitals in an Excel spreadsheet. After all 50 states have been listed students will learn how to utilize borders on a spreadsheet.

5th Grade: Graded American Flags on Excel project. American Flag design created with States and Capitals listed in the spreadsheet. Students were introduced to the Code.org website where they learned some basics with coding ( coding involved logical and sequential thinking) Students ranged from puzzle # to puzzle #
6TH GRADE: COMPLETED AVERAGING OUT TYPING SPEED ( TYPINGTEST.COM) Recorded and calculated in an excel sheet sum totals and average of three typing tests. Started studiocode.org puzzles.

4th Grade: (Tuesdays only) FINALIZED Excel Art project: 50 states in Excel spreadsheet. With Capitals. 4th grade was given extra time with this art project. Students were allowed the Buddy system to help each other out, but not to do anywork for someone else. No more time for art with flag, next session Flags will be graded.

6th Grade: Review of Excel and data recording. The sum formula to add up data. Students were challenged with typing racer to record their times ( WPM: words per minute ) record the date in excel and solve for the Excel program to calculate their typing average.
7th grade: Finished Flags on Excel. Independent introduction to Turtle Academy and programming.
8th Grade: Typed up Template for final project. Creative Writing Project. Students will draft up and format a future Resume. Forward thinking 20 + years in the future.
8th grade HOMEWORK ASSIGNMENT: DUE on March 26th: Minimum of 6 Sentences describing yourself. Your best features, talents, skills, the best parts of your personality. Dedicate two or three sentences to the traits you see yourself having in the future as an adult. Avoid “I AM” statements. Use statements like “Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, such as Exel, Word and Powerpoint.” Avoid over using "and " with Run-on sentences.
