6TH, 7TH AND 8TH GRADE STUDENTS ENROLLED IN FOREIGN LANGUAGE ARE ENCOURAGED TO
GO TO WWW.BOOKBOX.COM AND READ THE ILLUSTRATED STORIES ( SELECT THE ITALIAN AS THE LANGUAGE ) AND THE STORIES ARE ILLUSTRATED AND NARRATED WITH ENGLISH SUBTITLES.
Week of 1/8 and 1/9
1st grade: 1-7 practice typing Spelling words ( bed, jet, leg, men, net ). Attempted at log in of the mathletics website. Students need much help in login in, the mathletics website is the same password as the educationcity.com Red, sled, step, ten wet saw you advanced words: habitat, hatch, survive, gentle, nudge, perch, private moist.
2nd grade ( Tuesday). Reviewed in microsoft word: Header insertion and clearing the header, copying and pasting. Zooming in and out. Utilizing the Print Screen feature from the keyboard students took a screen shot of their computers and pasted on Microsoft word. Edits were made on the screen shot such as resizing and cropping. Last task was to utilize the Wrap Text feature on Microsoft Word and most students were able to move the image anywhere on the page in Word.
3rd grade: Instructed on how t o insert a header on Microsoft word. Editing the header with an entry of a typical school heading. Shown how to clear the header and copying and pasting vocabulary words from the school website. The students retyped their words five times each on Microsoft word. (need a refresher on how to edit and manipulate the cursor )
4th grade: ( Tuesday )Plagiarism and Recording Data. Students formatted a copied and pasted reference from the internet on Whitehouse.gov/George Washington and learned how to properly cite/credit when copying and composing from information from a Web Source. Control and hyperlink utiity was attempted.
5th grade: Blank/new word document. Review Header insertion. Data Collection lesson. Students learned how to give credit when copying and pasting information of the internet. They learned the format of a works cited page.
6th grade: Students came up with 5 topics: Social Studies, science, religion, superheroes/cartoons, and Animals. Today (1/8) focused on two topics and came up with 5 questions for a total of 10 questions each. All work was initiated as far as the composing questions from each student. Compose more questions at home and have them ready for input next Monday 1/15.
6TH GRADE FOREIGN LANGUAGE: Completed Basics 2: Lessons 1, 2, 3. Quiz next Tuesday: 1/16

7th Grade: : Students came up with 6 topics: Social Studies, Science, Religion, Anime/Cartoons, and Movies. Today (1/8) focused on two topics and came up with 5 questions for a total of 10 questions each. All work was initiated as far as the composing questions from each student. Some early intiated the Jeopardy board on Excel. Compose more questions at home and have them ready for input next Monday 1/15.
7TH Grade Foreign Language: Reviewed Basics 2; Lessons 1, 2, 3. The different forms of Leggi (Leggo, legge, leggiamo, leggette and what articles go before the verb ( leggere: read )
8th grade: Students came up with 6 topics: Social Studies, science, religion, sports, movies, and student choice. Today (1/8) focused on creating tables in Word. Formatted to topic, inquiry and response two topics and came up with 5 questions for a total of 10 questions each. All work was initiated as far as the composing of topics and questions from each student. Compose more questions at home and have them ready for input next Monday 1/15.
8th grade Foreign Language: Completed Basics 2: Lessons 1 – 5. Completed and took notes on the Strengthening exercise for Basics 2. Compiled a list of common everyday Nouns and translated into a shared Google Docs Spreadsheet. Select 8th graders in last period were in the Yearbooking Committee.

1ST GRADE: ( NOT SEEN: MONDAY ONLY)
2ND GRADE: Mathletics log in by all students was successful. Assignments that were given was worked on and reviewed associative and commutative property of addition.
3RD GRADE: (NOT SEEN: MONDAY ONLY
4TH GRADE ( tuesday): Saving into flashdrive procedures review. Typing club. Saving utilizing "print screen". Saving typing club results in the flash drive.
5TH GRADE: NOT SEEN: MONDAY ONLY)
6TH, 7TH GRADE, 8TH GRADE: SUBMITTAL OF CHRISTMAS CARDS, REVIEW OF GDRIVE AND SUBMITTAL PROCEDURES.
Week of Monday 12/18 and Tuesday 12/19 (final week before break)
1st grade: educationcity.com. Only 2 students required assistance with website and log in.
2nd grade: (Tuesday) Further introduction to Powerpoint: introductions to basic animation. inserting text, adjusting text and the size of the text box to modify the appearance of the text. A simple message entered into a slide and modified/edited. educationcity.com. independent log in and utilization of headsets.
3rd grade: Reviewed animation, introduced the animation pane, insertion of shapes. Animating the shape ( pulse animation on a sun). Finding the animation with animation pane, setting the animation to repetitive mode. Selection of an object on a slide as compared to selecting of text. Copying and pasting images, setting an image to back. ( Follow up: saving procedures )
4th grade: (Tuesday ) Saving Procedures and flash drive removal procedure. Continued work on Christmas Cards. Those students with flash drives managed to save their work in the flash drive. (Shortened period due to School Mass ).
4th and 5th grade: Final week of Chirstmas cards and basic features with powerpoint. All students created 3 - 4 slides. Animated the objects on the slides, worked on transitions. Learned how to insert music as a file on the Powerpoint. Ran slideshows with animation and music ( for those students that did not bring in music, a song file was offered and given to them into the the student flash drives.) Students were to save their projects on flash drives and present the Christmas cards to family. Students were evalutated based on their knowledge on how to use powerpoint, ( animation, transitions, editing the slides, and saving procedutes
6th grade: With Christmas cards instructed on how to repeat an animation for a lasting effect. How to insert a music file to enhance the powerpoint slide. Worked on Christmas cards ( shortened period due to rehearsals) Christmas break. Students were encouraged to save work on flash drives and present cards to family.
6th grade: Foreign language: Strengthening drill with basics 1-3. Basics part 2 lessons 1 and 2. Compiled list on Microsoft word. Terminology and vocabulary list will be submitted next week prior to the Christmas break.
Finalized work on Christmas card, next tech class there will be no work done on powerpoint only submittal to Gdrive from the onset of the period. Instructed on continuous none stop animation and how to insert music to enhance the powerpoint presentation.
